MISS MYSTIC FALLS

Miss Mystic Falls is a beauty pageant that happens annually in Mystic Falls. During the pageant, many people visit our town to witness the antiqueness of the competition as it is a big part of our town’s culture. Usually, the daughters of the founding families enter the pageant, although other citizens of the town are also eligible.

Southern rural beauty pageants have been around for many centuries, and these are very meaningful competitions for young women as well for many small towns in the nation (Thompson-Hardy, 2018). They are said to be a big factor in forming the female identity of our young women in Mystic Falls.

Miss Mystic Falls is an important part of our culture as it brings many people of the town together to celebrate the competition. We have created a global village for the event, many outsiders will come into town just for the beauty pageant, or watch the live stream from remote parts of the world (Martin & Nakayama, 2017, pp. 19). We use this popularity to our advantage and hold multiple events during the weekend of Miss Mystic Falls in order to give people more things to do while in town.
